Let’s swap those plastic hats and disposable beads for a touch of emerald elegance this St. Patrick's Day! Make 2024 the year to immerse yourself in the rich history and symbolism of Irish culture, all while leaving a lighter footprint on our planet.
If you're hunting for St Patrick’s Day outfit inspiration, unique gifts, or a taste of Celtic customs, we've got you covered. To kick off the holiday celebration, let’s look at how to celebrate with intention so you can make a positive impact --- while flaunting your love for the Emerald Isle!
Here’s your guide to sustainable St. Patrick's Day style and celebration.
Looking for that perfect St Patrick's Day outfit? Whether you’re in Cork or Canberra, this is the day to show off your Irish pride. To get you inspired, here are some St. Paddy’s Day style picks, along with some fun Irish history facts.
Emerald green, as lush as the Irish countryside, is a symbol of hope, renewal, and the enduring spirit of the Irish people. The colour has been part of the Irish flag since back in 1642 and throughout the 17th century, Irish soldiers wore green as a symbol of rebellion against British rule.
Long before it was political, green was a colour seen throughout Celtic mythology with leprechauns in green jackets, fairies bathed in a green light, and the god of fertility and agriculture, Dagda, suited up in green.
Fun Fact: Did you know that St. Patrick's Day wasn't always awash in green hues? Blue adorned depictions of the saint for centuries, representing Irish history and resistance long before green became the iconic symbol.
Legend has it that leprechauns can’t see you if you wear green, and if they do see you, they will pinch you. This strange St Paddy’s Day lore seems to have popped up in the US during the nineteenth century and nobody knows quite how that all happened… but we love the idea of embracing our national colour and a strange little bit of modernised Celtic mythology!
Style inspiration: As instantly gratifying as it is to grab St Patrick’s Day style in a bag, why not keep it simple? Go green by finding olive, mint, seafoam, and other festival hues in your closet. Or go old school with a blue ensemble! Whatever style you rock for St Paddy’s big day, make sure that it’s not a one-time wear.
I think any of us can agree that the worst part of any St Paddy’s Day party is waking up to a sea of green plastic afterwards. From green beads littering the streets to bins overflowing with green hats and plastic cups, having an eco-friendly St Patrick's Day sometimes feels like a distant dream --- which is why we created our Irish Kisses line! This St Patrick's Day jewellery collection is so much chicer than any novelty green party hat and it’ll last you for a lifetime.
Debating what to wear this St Patrick’s Day? On the hunt for a St Paddy’s Day gift? Here’s some emerald enchantment to get you inspired:
While Claddagh rings have graced fingers in Galway since the 1700s, the iconic name only came about in the 1830s. Despite its relatively young label, this ring's origin tells of whispers of old folklore, likely born in the fishing village of Claddagh, Galway.
The Claddagh ring's story remains alive today in Ireland as well as in communities of the Irish diaspora across the globe. Passed from mom to daughter for generations, it's become a coming-of-age gift as well as a symbol of forever love between romantic partners.
Wondering how to wear a Claddagh ring? If you want to go the traditional route, here’s how to style it:
As an Irish woman, I’ve always loved the Claddagh symbolism and the meaningful role that it plays in our culture. And, as a designer, it’s in my nature to mix things up and add a pop of colour! PÓG was born from the spirit of love and camaraderie that defined the Claddagh ring --- and an added touch of modern je ne sais quoi.
While I love the rich history of Claddagh, today’s Ireland needed a new symbol. Our younger generations are creating change in a very different world. Today, life is digitised and fast-paced… sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. I think at times we all feel that lack of human connection that can permeate everyday life. And, while a piece of jewellery isn’t exactly going to turn the modern world on its head, we can use these little tokens of love to connect.
Pieces like the PÓG Spinning Ring can be worn in different ways, just like the classic Claddagh. Instead of just representing marital status though, they are a symbol of love in every colour of the rainbow. Rather than being a single rigid piece, they spin to show different facets (and give an outlet for anxious hands!).
Beyond just offering a fresh take on modern Irish jewellery, PÓG is all about unity, with each other and with our planet. When it comes to St. Patrick's Day gifts, decor, and outfits, sustainability often goes out the window --- but it doesn’t have to! If you want to celebrate your Irish heritage or love for the Emerald Isle, go green. Invest in pieces that last while supporting local businesses in Ireland.
Here at PÓG, we use bio-plastic packaging made from 100% renewable resources such as food waste and wood chipping. To show our love for Ireland and its beautiful people, we also donate 2.5% of all of our profits to JIGSAW, a powerful charity providing mental health for young people in Ireland.
Ready to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with lasting style and a conscience? Swap the plastic for pieces that tell a story and empower young minds in Ireland. Explore our complete collection of beautiful, sustainable jewellery inspired by tradition.
Cheers to the season of love and friendship! As Valentine's Day approaches, it’s time to celebrate your nearest and dearest. Whether you’re single or attached, your friend group has been at the centre of your life through good times and bad --- and that’s why we love the idea of Galentine's Day! This celebration of sisterhood is all about honouring the importance and beauty of female friendship. This year, why not send a message of love with a thoughtful Galentine's Day jewellery gift?
To help you find inspiration for that unforgettable Galentine's Day gift that she’ll cherish for years to come, let’s look at some of the pieces that our girls in Ireland and around the globe have been loving.
Before we dive into Galentine's Day gift inspiration, let’s take a quick look back at the history of this unique holiday. The Valentine’s Day alternative (or extra celebration, depending on who you ask!) is celebrated on the 13th of February. This modern holiday came from an episode of Parks and Recreation back in 2010. In the episode, Leslie Knope took her female friends out for a brunch of waffles and mimosas. The world fell head over heels for the idea and women around the world have united to celebrate those fabulous friendships on this day ever since.
Of course, it’s not just the gals who have relationships worth celebrating. To honour friendships of all kinds, the gender-neutral Palentine’s Day quickly came to life on the internet following the iconic Galentine's Day episode. Today, you’ll find people celebrating Galentine's Day and Palentine’s Day alike. And, why not? When it comes to reasons to celebrate, we say: the more, the merrier!
Long gone are the days when we had to wait around for a man to buy us a sparkling bauble. Galentine's Day jewellery gifts are all about treating that someone special to something special. Whether it’s your sister, partner in crime, or childhood BBF, we could all use a token of love. Here are a few Galentine's Day gift ideas to get you inspired.
If you’re after a Galentine's, Palentine’s, or Valentine’s Day gift idea, the PÓG Spinning Bracelet is a perfect pick. They come in every colour of the rainbow, just like our friends, so you can find the right shade for everyone in your crew.
If you want to give your friend a kiss (or a póg, as we say in Irish) that they can touch, see, and feel anytime they need a little boost, these spinning bracelets are a gorgeous gift for Galentine's Day.
And it’s tactile! Here at PÓG, we celebrate neurodiversity and know how magical it can be to always have a fidget bracelet at hand. That’s why we added reversible and tactile charms to our PÓG Spinning Bracelet so that you can have a focus aid or anxiety relief anytime, anywhere.
Planning Tip: Got a friend who is always on the go and into a more sporty style? Check out the PÓG Sport Bracelet. It’s also a fidget bracelet and comes with a woven nylon and silicone band that makes it waterproof and easy to clean.
Another fun and fabulous piece of fidget jewellery, the PÓG Spinning Ring gives a kiss to all the special people in your life. This fidget ring offers a comforting tactile experience for any time you need a bit of positive reinforcement (and don’t we all sometimes!).
Choose from a range of vivid colours with a silver band or go with a gold and black spinning ring for a classic style.
For a lovely Galentine’s Day gift that your marvellous mates can wear near and dear to their hearts, go for the PÓG Locket. This colourful locket has a hidden kiss inside that they can always keep close to them.
Looking for a bold minimalistic look? The Gold Locket is a prime pick for that friend who loves a chic and understated style.
Rather than dazzling the object of your affection with whirlwind romantic gestures, Galentine's Day is more of a down-to-earth, lighthearted celebration. Think brunches, spa days, and wine tastings. When it comes to Galentine's Day, there are no rules or crazy expectations. This is the day to do what makes you happy and celebrate what makes you remarkable.
Galentine’s Day Secret Cupid is a smart and simple way to celebrate the holiday and add some fun to your February. Just like many of us do a Secret Santa for Christmas, a Secret Cupid for Galentine’s Day takes the stress and expense out of shopping for the group. Rather than getting something for all of your friends, keep it simple by choosing a name at random and having everyone matched up with just one person they are going to buy a gift for.
When you’re gift shopping, go local and sustainable. Here at PÓG, we are proud to have waste-free packaging and give 2.5% of our profits to JIGSAW, a leading mental health services charity for young people in Ireland.

Green Shopping During the Holiday Season
As they say, you vote with your wallet. With the holiday shopping kicking off, the
choices that you make really do have the power to create a more mindful and
impactful celebration. This year, it is time to turn your credit card into a magic wand and play your part in creating a better world.
Of course, that’s easier said than done. In a world of greenwashing, eco-friendly gift buying can seem complicated at best. With all of the overpriced and overhyped products out there, it often feels like the only truly sustainable options are impossibly expensive.
Working in the world of small sustainable businesses, however, we know very well that there are truly good brands out there that stay true to their values. That’s why we are here to help you buy better this year. Keep on reading for a few tips to get you on the path to eco-friendly holiday gift-giving.
Thoughtful Gifts: Beyond Trends and Fads As much as love exploring the latest trends, Christmas gifts are far more meaningful when they have a sentimental value. While fashion comes and goes, gifts from the heart will always have their place. Thoughtful presents like the pieces from our Kiss collection give an infinite kiss to that someone special. It’s something real, tactile, and beautiful that they can reach for anytime, anywhere. For the 80+ million people around the globe of Irish descent, our Claddagh-inspired collections are even more meaningful.
And, these are just a few of the countless options out there. This year, when you’re making your holiday gift list, spend the time to truly think about your nearest and dearest to find what they’d truly love.
Finding Sustainable and Ethical Choices
After the holiday madness, tossing the heaps of plastic packaging and shredded
wrapping paper is always a less-than-joyous experience. But gift-giving doesn’t have to mean filling up the landfills!
Here at Póg Jewellery we only use packaging from 100% renewable resources like wood chippings and food waste. There are a myriad of other brands out there that are every bit as committed to low-waste, no-plastic packaging. When you’re gift shopping this holiday season, pay attention to the full package and look for eco- friendly options. If the product you’ve got in hand is more packaging than present, keep on searching.
Support Small Businesses Online and In-Person
This holiday season, support small businesses near and far. Unlike global brands,
small businesses offer unique product ranges with that personal touch. Best of all, by choosing to buy gifts from small businesses, you play a direct role in sustaining entrepreneurship, promoting economic resilience, and fostering a sense of community.
As a female-owned small business that is dedicated to ethical jewellery, we know
each and every person involved in making and selling Póg Jewellery. This is the
benefit of shopping with us and many other small businesses out there.
Look to Brands on a Mission
Choose gifts that give back. At Póg Jewellery, 5% of our profits go directly to
JIGSAW, a crucial charity that provides mental health services for young people in Ireland. You’ll find a wide range of other brands out there that dedicate a portion of their proceeds to charitable causes. By choosing socially conscious gifts, you are not only being thoughtful to the person receiving your gift but also contributing to positive change in the wider world.
Make a Statement This Green Friday
This Green Friday, let your choices be a reflection of your values. Remember that
your purchase becomes more than a transaction; it becomes a symbol of love, care, and responsibility towards our planet and its people.
Join Póg this Green Friday and redefine the joy of giving, not just to loved ones but to the world around you. Make a statement that lasts beyond the holiday season — a statement of style, sustainability, and compassion.

Happy holiday shopping!
]]>ADHD Awareness Month was created in 2004 by a collaboration of mental health organisations and supported by the U.S. Senate. Over the years, it quickly evolved from just a day in September to a week and, eventually, the whole month of October.
The theme for 2023 is Moving Forward With ADHD.
Orange is the colour to show your support, so you can expect to see plenty of it.
Things have come a long way over the last 25 years, but we’ve still got a long way to go as a society. The national medication shortage that our friends in the UK are currently experiencing is just one important example of this.
That’s why, this October, we're channeling our positive energy into raising awareness, breaking down stigmas, and offering support to those affected.
ADHD affects millions of individuals across the globe. Even if you aren’t personally diagnosed with it, you probably have a friend or loved one who is experiencing the reality of what it’s like to live with ADHD.
It's more than just a diagnosis; it's a journey, a unique lens through which people see the world. It can lead to revolutionary, out-of-the-box thinking, unparalleled creativity, and create real change.
ADHD has contributed to the brilliance of iconic figures like Emma Watson, Zooey Deschanel, Michael Phelp, and Justin Timberlake. And, of course, in the year of Barbie, we have to mention Greta Gerwig, who shared her ADHD diagnosis earlier this year.
But that’s just one side of the experience. While we love to spread positivity and celebrate our strengths, we do recognise the very real and very serious internal struggles that come with it.
ADHD isn't just a buzzword or a fleeting “trend”; it's a very real experience for many every day with complex symptoms and genuine human challenges, such as:
Inattention: Imagine trying to focus on a task, but your mind feels like a pinball machine, bouncing from thought to thought. Completing simple tasks like washing up or replying to a message can feel like scaling a mountain.
Hyperactivity: When most people think of hyperactivity, they envision a child (usually a boy) bouncing off the walls. But hyperactivity can manifest internally, with a relentless stream of racing thoughts - including unhelpful ones.
Impulsivity: The urge to act on impulse is often irresistible. Hasty decisions, sudden outbursts and uncontrollable spending can often lead to unintentional consequences and regret.
Executive Dysfunction: Basic tasks like organising, planning, and time management can feel impossible. Even with the best intentions, it can often look like disinterest or laziness.
Emotional Dysregulation: Managing emotions can be a rollercoaster. From intense mood swings to dealing with Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD), where even a hint of perceived criticism can feel like a crushing blow, ADHDers definitely have a lot of feelings.
Despite a whole community sharing similar symptoms and behaviours, ADHD is still heavily stigmatised, and the media loves to spread myths and misconceptions (even from so-called psychotherapists).
The best way to combat this? Education.
Raising awareness is really about educating yourself and others.
Join us here at PÓG in spreading positivity, fostering empathy, and building bridges of understanding as we dive into the wonderful world of ADHD awareness and some of the incredible ways we can make a difference.
It's time to spread a little extra love and understanding this October!
Knowledge is a powerful tool that can help break down stereotypes and build empathy - and it all starts with you! To raise awareness in the right way, you first need to build your own understanding.
To understand the actual science, your best bet is to read up on the latest research, books, and resources put out by professional organisations. This can be a fascinating exploration (or hyperfixation), especially if you have any interest in neuroscience or what makes people tick.
To see how it affects people’s everyday lives, social media is an obvious choice, but also look for personal articles in magazines and platforms like Medium, podcasts, and YouTube channels.
In particular, there are several TikTok creators dedicated to showing what living with someone with ADHD is like. Two of my favourites are ADHD Love and Tarah & Barry.
As you’re learning, pay attention to any of your own biases or believed misconceptions that pop up. Deconstructing these will make it easier to educate others who may have the same thoughts.
Personal stories are incredibly powerful and have the power to change the world. This is what connects us and builds community.
If you’re an ADHDer yourself, share your experiences, the good and the bad. By opening up, you create a safe space for others to do the same. Finding shared experiences can help combat loneliness and raise awareness, especially in a community that typically spends most of its lives asking “What the hell is wrong with me?”.
It can also help those undiagnosed to recognise their symptoms and seek the help they need and deserve (which is a good thing, despite what the media says).
For everyone else, don’t forget to amplify the voices of those who've bravely shared their ADHD journeys. Retweeting or sharing a post to your story takes seconds, but can make all the difference.
Let their stories be heard and celebrated! Plus, being the quirky, creative storytellers that they so often can be, their stories are usually worth listening to.
If you have ADHD friends, family members, or colleagues, make the time to show your love and support. Reach out, ask how they're doing, and let them know you're there for them. Sometimes, a simple message can make all the difference.
Depending on their presentation, ADHDers can come across as the fun, energetic, life and soul of the party type. But that doesn’t mean that’s how they feel internally. Alternatively, someone with ADHD can look perfectly calm and collected but have hyperactive thoughts, which is particularly common in women who appear “neurotypical”.
Raise your voice and challenge misconceptions whenever you encounter them. Wherever that be online, in the media, or while chatting with family or friends.
The world needs more brave people who are willing to advocate for those with ADHD by correcting misunderstandings, spreading awareness and setting the record straight, especially to the people they influence.
Content creators, this is your call to action. If you have a platform, you have a responsibility to use it for good. Take a stance and fight for it in your own way.
Use the hashtag #ADHDAwarenessMonth to speak up! Together, we can create a more informed, inclusive, and loving world.
Orange is the official colour of ADHD Awareness Month, so you can show your support through your fashion choices. We know we will be!
Don’t shy away from the tough conversations, embrace them!
Initiate conversations about ADHD with your circle. Share facts and stories, and encourage open dialogues - even a healthy debate or two. The more we talk about it, the less it remains a stigmatized or misunderstood topic.
But remember, listening is your superpower.
All that learning you did? Share it. Not just the personal stories, but the research, articles, podcasts, TikToks - everything.
The more we share reputable sources of information and real-life experiences, the more we drown out the voices of those who wish to spread hate, negativity, and misinformation. And who needs that?
Offline, we need to make sure our physical spaces are ADHD-friendly too. That means community spaces, schools, and workplaces.
Employment can be a particularly challenging environment for the multi-passionate, interest-based nervous system of someone with ADHD. It can be overstimulating, understimulating, too loud, too quiet, too much pressure, not enough pressure…
What’s not spoken about nearly enough is that, depending on your country, employees with ADHD are entitled to ask for reasonable adjustments or accommodations from their employer. This can look like anything from noise-cancelling headphones to increased working from home.
Safe spaces should be the norm, not the exception, but we need to work with these organisations to make it happen.
There are a lot of fantastic organisations dedicated to ADHD awareness and support, including:
You’ll also find local organisations online or in-person if you ask around (or Google).
If you can donate to these organisations, amazing. But if not, volunteering your time, or participating in their events is just as valuable. Every bit of support helps.
We're all about love, and this point is perhaps the most important. Show love, empathy, and kindness to those with ADHD. Let them know they're not alone, and that they are valued for their unique perspectives.
One of the more difficult parts of ADHD is Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) which is exactly what it sounds like: an extreme sensitivity to anything that seems slightly like rejection (even when it’s not).
That’s why showing love is so essential for those with ADHD.
Of course, it’s totally up to you how you do that.
Now that you know how, this ADHD Awareness Month, let's come together to raise awareness, uplift each other, and make the world a more inclusive, compassionate, and vibrant home for everyone.
Show your support and wear orange! Shop our favourite orange pieces here.
Every kiss shared brings more love to the world.
]]>Whether you’re a fresher leaving home for the first time, a second year trying to figure everything out or a final year just hoping to survive until graduation: it’s a lot.
Just the social side of college and university alone is more than enough to trigger anxiety, especially as we’re all just trying to find our feet in this disconnected, digital world we’ve landed in.
Even pre-pandemic, I spent my Freshers' Ball eating candy floss (it was carnival-themed) and anxiously twiddling my thumbs, hoping to make just one friend. Now, it is harder.
But, it’s also a shared experience.
The best thing you can do, in my opinion, is not put too much pressure on yourself to make friends and be sociable. What happens happens. You’ll meet the right people at the right times across your life. That time might not be now.
You can find friends anywhere. University is a time to find mentors to learn from while you’re still figuring out who you want to be.
But, that being said, you will still find yourself in social situations, and an anxiety ring could be your new best friend.
You’ve probably already seen these on Instagram Ads or TikTok, but if you haven’t, anxiety or fidget rings are designed with tactile elements that you can play with.
The three main types you’ll usually see are the beaded design, the spinning band (where the centre band twists), or the spinning design where it’s the decorative part that spins.
Think of them as the cooler, far more fashionable alternative to fidget toys that double as wearable therapy. And they’re completely acceptable in classrooms - unlike noisy fidget spinners, or bringing your actual therapist.
They’re so discreet that, if you don’t visibly sweat and shake like a leaf every time you do a presentation, no one will even know you’re nervous.
Check out our spinning signet ring. Would you ever know that it was anything more than a bold style choice?
The easy answer is everyone. But don’t worry, there’s more to it than that.
The Anxious
If you suffer from anxiety, you’ll know just how many symptoms come with it, both physically and mentally. It’s not just restlessness, it’s the racing heart rate, the inability to breathe, difficulty concentrating, sweaty palms, nail-biting, skin-picking, and the list goes on.
When you’re experiencing these feelings, a distraction can sometimes be your most powerful tool.
During exam season (which is thankfully still a future problem), you’ll want a quick and easy way to recenter.
The Habit-Breakers
I’m sure we all have habits we’d love to break, especially when we’re in the season of reinventing ourselves on the inside and outside. Nail biting and skin picking are two of the big ones. Many of us pick up these habits early in life and can seriously struggle to stop them, leading to shame and discomfort.
All habits go through a cue, craving, response, and reward process. Let’s say the cue is an uncomfortable situation. You crave physical stimulation (the reward). Normally, you’d bite your nails, but with an anti-anxiety ring, you can get the exact same reward but with a different response. You’re only changing one part of the equation instead of rewriting it entirely.
That’s why fidget rings make effective replacement habits.
Note: You can read more about this in James Clear’s Atomic Habits, a must-read for anyone.
The Neurodivergents
If you’re autistic or an ADHDer, stimming is your friend. Stimming is a repetitive behaviour intended to self-stimulate, regulate and soothe. From an outside, neurotypical perspective, it can look like unusual movements or sounds e.g.: rocking, hand flapping, or foot tapping.
For me, as an ADHDer, those movements just feel right. Until someone points it out. Thanks, Mum.
Fidget rings offer that stimulation whenever you need it, bringing comfort without drawing any unwanted attention to yourself (because unfortunately most of us still feel the need to hide it).
The Bored
Why not? It’s fun. And you won’t love every class you attend. And there’s a lot of sitting still when humans naturally want to move.
Let’s get to the important question: Do they work?
Yes. For short-term relief.
Many people swear by anxiety rings as a coping mechanism (not a treatment), claiming that it keeps them grounded and gives them something to focus on when they’re in uncomfortable situations. And to save you time, yes, that’s the verdict the other articles on Google come to too.
Repetitive movements can help you focus your breath and enter a more mindful state, even during panic attacks (depending on the situation). Even taking just 30 seconds of conscious spinning can help you relax and ease tension.
If you experience a lot of negative self-talk and unhelpful thoughts, having an action to redirect your attention to can help silence those thoughts and reset - just like a good nap can, only quicker.
—
Personally, you’ll never find me out and about without my phone in my hand. Not because I’m addicted to anything in particular - I probably only use five apps max - but because pretending to use it gives me comfort in uncomfortable situations.
If you do the same thing, remember that a fidget ring doesn’t need to be recharged, and you can use it in situations where you’re trying to politely “live in the moment”, like a date.
Life hack: Did you know our Póg rings have a secret meaning? So, if you’re receiving any unwanted attention, maybe move it to your ring finger and pretend to be engaged. It’s not 100% effective, but it can’t hurt to try.
As I mentioned earlier, there are three main types of anxiety rings, but I’d only recommend the spinning kind.
The ones with smaller balls that you can roll around can be difficult to move once it’s on your finger, and taking it off defeats the purpose. You might as well just embrace Y2K and make a bunch of fun, beaded bracelets. It’ll create the same effect and you’ll be ready for Taylor Swift’s international Eras Tour. That’s my plan.
The spinning rings are more like fidget spinners (or spinning tops, if they still exist). You can just spin them once and zone out for a bit.
Colour is another important tool in your anxiety-relief toolkit. Colour psychology is at work everywhere because it has a very real, very powerful emotional effect. You likely have one or two colours that make you feel calmer or happier. I surround myself with pink and orange because they never fail to boost my mood.
Most calming rings, however, lack colour. And while silver and gold are pretty and timeless, they don’t quite have the same mood-boosting effect.
That’s why we brought the rainbow into our PÓG spinning ring.
Just because our spinning rings look magical, it doesn’t mean they’ll instantly cure your anxiety (sorry!). You may still need therapy and/or an actionable plan to reduce the stress in your life.
Spinning anxiety rings can, however, provide some much-needed short-term relief in stressful situations: exams, deadlines, first days and first dates.
To help make this fall season and the next academic year one of health, love and happiness, students can get 15% off with the discount code: Student23
And in the spirit of universal love, we encourage you to share a PÓG with someone who needs it. Every Kiss shared brings more love to the world.

If you are struggling with anxiety and think you need help, always reach out to your school to find out what support they can offer you.

Whether it be going to the gym, playing your favourite sport or going for a simple walk on the beach, it’s important to move your body. Yoga is a personal favourite way to exercise as it gets your body moving while keeping your heart rate low.
7. Practice Mindfulness and Meditation
Start your day with a short meditation session to put you on the path of productivity while also providing anti stress benefits. It is a great way to recharge and refocus.
8. Chat with a friend
Its important to maintain our relationships which can become strained during this busy time. Make time to have a coffee with a friend, where you can have a laugh and take a well needed break together.
9. Make a study plan and schedule time off
Different people work best at different times of the day. Find the study times that work best for you. If you work better in the mornings, make sure to schedule time in the evening off, or if you work best in the evenings, take the morning off for yourself.
10. Be kind to yourself
You deserve all the support you give others. Remind yourself of all your strengths and achievements, and pat yourself on the back for how far you’ve come. We all need support during stressful times.
I hope this helps some of you, and remember that you can only do your best. We wish the best of luck to any students sitting exams in the coming weeks, and remember, summer is only around the corner!

]]>World Mental Health month takes place every year in may. It’s an important time to raise awareness, address and change the current situation of mental health in Ireland, as well as highlighting the affect it can have on all of us. Our families, friends, co-workers, those you don’t know who you pass on the street. It impacts all of us at some point in our lives.
Mental health awareness and young people’s mental health issues are very close to our hearts. With the recent impact of covid and the housing crisis, research has show that 40% of young men and 55% of young women in Ireland are classified as depressed.
We have a long standing friendship with Jigsaw charity, with 2.5% of our profits from our sales going to the organisation and the incredible work they do. You can read more about Jigsaw and their wonderful work on their website here.
With our jewellery, we hope to encourage and spark conversations around the importance of mental health supports. We hope that our products bring a touch of joy and light to your life, whatever you may be going through.
A PÓG is a hand reaching out in the darkness, a tight hug from a friend to let you know we’re here for you. A kiss from a loved one, when you most need it.
Our mental health is our wealth, and this month and every month, we strive to continue to raise awareness and support well needed mental health services in Ireland.
Love boldly always.
PÓG XX
We are passionate about our duty to reduce our waste and carbon footprint. This all starts with our boxes that our loved filled PÓGs are packaged in. All our jewellery boxes are made from bio plastics, which are plastic materials produced from renewable biomass sources, such as recycled food waste, woodchips, vegetable fats and oils.
We encourage our friends and customers to re-home the packaging their PÓGs come in. We are a female owned company that is dedicated to our sustainability goals and ensuring our business is just as green as our Irish roots!
Speaking of female leaders, recently one of our most renowned Irish female leaders, former president Mary Robinson received the IMAGE Lifetime Achievement awards for her work for peace, justice, human rights and a sustainable planet. You can read more about it here.
We are all about love, friendship, positivity, and equality. By following these sustainable practices, we are sticking to the very root of what PÓG means to us and to you.
We hope you all have a fantastic Earth Day and join in on the journey for saving our planet and driving for positive change.

Springtime is the season for rebirth and new beginnings. A time to leave the stagnation of winter behind and say hello to brighter days.
This Easter is a great time to use up all those scrumptious eggs to do some baking. Here’s a PÓG favourite recipe you can give a go; fun to make and mouth-watering easter egg cupcakes, an Odlums recipe. We’ve tried them ourselves and can say they are ten out of ten!
If you are going to get your hands sticky munching on delicious cupcakes, you can choose from our wide variety of similar pieces, such as our stylish earrings or our pendant and kisses necklaces.
We hope you have an eggcellent weekend!

]]>At PÓG, we are proud of our long-standing support of the LGBTQ+ community. We are aware that there is a huge pressure for non-binary and trans identifying people to conform, change and prove their gender to others. We believe that all trans people regardless of identity, expression or orientation, are enough just as they are.
We take inspiration from the empowerment and bravery of the community in our jewellery, embodying the modern approach to unisex clothing and accessories. Our pieces are driven my love and compassion, proudly promoting inclusivity and a strong sense of self identity whatever that may mean to you and your self-expression.
Love is love. Love strongly and bravely.

]]>The modern version may not resemble our dear Samhain but you have us to thank for your day of dress up, pumpkins and sweets!
Though it has changed, we can still see many of our traditions tweaked to fit our times. Much like now, the festival was held by lighting bonfires and dressing up as ghosts and ghouls to ward off the real ones. Instead of pumpkins, people used to carve turnips (they look horrifying!) and trick or treating is as old as the hills too!
We know spooky isn’t for everyone, so if you want to look cute this Halloween, we have just the tips for you! With our orange and purple sets out, there’s no better time to pair up some PÓGs. For those who may feel nervous from the firework bangs, doll up your fingers with sensory spinning rings and match them with some stacking rings for that extra bling.
It would be a shame for all your costume prep to go to waste, so treat yourself to some fun events! Here are our top picks for those who want something proper scary:
Farmaphobia - Ireland’s biggest Halloween event. Bring nice warm boots and get ready to run for your life through cornfields!
Púca Festival - those with masks will blend right in. Definitely a more traditional approach to our Hallow’s Eve
And here’s some picks for those who may not want too much of a fright but still love the vibe:
The Bram Stoker Festival - got all the charms of Halloween we love to see with tons of nostalgia
Clissmann Pumpkin Patch - super cute pumpkin patch for a wholesome Autumn visit
If you don’t want to go out (it’s getting cold after all) why not take a shot at baking a traditional barmbrack cake. Barmbrack is a type of yeast bread filled with dried fruit that has been soaked in tea. It’s super tasty and definitely nostalgic for the Irish people.
It differs from other traditional fruit cakes in the little prize you can find inside. If you really want to honour the tradition you can try baking a ring into it!
Halloween is a season with so many elements that everyone can enjoy. Enjoy the changing season and bundle up.

As much as we loved those warm sunny days, it’s nice to catch a break from it as school kicks off for the year. Nothing is worse than trying to write an essay while battling your own sweat! Plus, with days getting shorter, and nights getting longer, it’s a perfect excuse to sleep more - or stargaze at a reasonable hour. We are falling for Autumn already.
Sticking to the seasonal themes, orange has taken over our hearts. It only seems fitting and we are very excited to show you all how to incorporate such an energising colour as it starts to get chilly.
Orange stands for optimism and adventure, and can even stimulate appetite to help you enjoy heartwarming meals and wholesome soups. It’s hard to think of orange as anything but warm and welcoming.
You may be tempted to go with a dark wardrobe, but we encourage you to consider combining a touch of orange alongside your navies, greens and purples. It can be as subtle as a spinning ring to help with those school nerves, go for a bolder look like a pendant - bracelet combo or strap a pin onto some Irelands Eye Knitwear (cosy and fashionable!)
Keep your eyes peeled for more to come. Now is just the beginning, but we have plenty planned for spooky season this October. We hope you fall for Autumn as much as we have!

So I’ve collected the best set of tips to help you with those back to school nerves.
At the end of the day, college is an experience and you can make the most of it. All it takes is a moment of bravery to step out of your comfort zone and have fun!

]]>The CEO and founder Linzi welcomed us and showed us around, and we got to admire a cool eclectic mix of gifts for everyone. It was hard to resist but we managed to protect our bank accounts (for the most part!)
After our adventure in Born & Bred we went for a walk around the gem that is Belfast city. Despite being used to the big city of Dublin, it was like a breath of fresh air being in a new one!
We decided on food and went for lunch in Wagamama and we had an amazing chicken katsu curry! I still think about it now.
To close the day off we got frozen yogurt on Spoon Street and I wish I was back there again to try every topping.
Once our stomachs were satisfied we headed back to Dublin.
It was heartwarming to see PÓG in store. We highly recommend you take a trip to Born & Bred yourself.
]]>One of Ireland's most recognisable symbols is that of bubbles and barley. Our inky suds are known across the globe, and that isn't for no reason!
Now that I'm away from Ireland, I still see our famous brew advertised across the Amsterdam streets. Truly iconic.
We believe every citizen of Ireland and tourists alike should pay a visit to the Guinness Storehouse whenever you have the chance. What better place to flaunt your Irish heritage than in the heart of it all!
Top the Irish feel off with some Claddagh style jewellery! Flash the gold with a brilliant charm pendant, subtle ear cuff or perhaps even make the event extra special and make sure of some suave cufflinks for those who really want to stand out.
Make the most of what's left of the summer. Back to school is fast approaching. Good luck!

]]>For many, the colour purple is nostalgic. For me, it’s being called a grape in my baby photos, for others it may be switching on old cartoons like Chowder.
The lavender is in season, so go out and breathe in that fresh air before Autumn comes.
Purple is said to be the colour of creativity, imagination and ambition. It’s the perfect combination of fiery red and soothing blue that can fit every mood. No matter what you’re feeling, there’s a shade of purple for anything. Take this week to express yourself with every shade you can dream of and hit the town! With such a strong, brave colour, it’s hard to find a good balance, so we suggest a subtle but powerful stance.
Looking for inspiration for your purple fashion? Why not try out Pinterest's new app Shuffles to dig up some ideas!
Treat yourself with some Cadburys (we recommend the Marvellous Creations bar!) and don’t let it melt all over your rings! Keep it cute with a sweet charm pendant. Nothing goes better with purple than yellows, oranges and greens.
We hope to see our Shuffles homepage full to the brim with purple this week!

Lots of tasty foods come in many shades of yellow, so why not share the love with a yellow themed picnic with your friends?
You can’t head out anywhere without packing the Tayto and Kerrygold with some lemon Mr Kiplings (named after an Irish baker) on the side.
The others can bring the fruit, you can bring the sugar and fun!
Land yourself at the top of the board - not only with your snack choices - but also rock the yellow picnic fashion!
Lay it all out with some colourful and fun Claddagh style PÓG spinning rings paired with stacking rings like the perfect set of pancakes.
Protect your head with a hat sparkling with cute PÓG pins and let the breeze run across a brand new charm pendant. Make your way to the picnic in style, the PÓG way!
This week, stand out with yellow!

]]>When PÓG first started out, we knew we wanted red to be our colour. The idea of love and friendship behind it was the perfect match for something attractive and fun.
The red passion ended up working in our favour, with our first airport jewellery drop (celebrating all things #ColourYourSummer) which you can take home as a precious gift for those you love, or yourself!
It seems many Irish brands like ourselves are fans of the colour red such as collaborators of ours like Virgin Media and Bradley. Red is the colour of strength! For all you fashion lovers, there's many ways to style PÓG jewellery with the right combination of things!
It’s time to channel your inner Taylor Swift and brave that red lipstick you’ve locked away for so long.
Finally try that red hair dye you’ve been contemplating. Hair is hair, it’ll grow back anyway!
Top it all off with that shining red PÓG to finish that fierce look off with a bang. Gather a stack to layer up your hands, or something simple like a delicate necklace or a fun little pin for your clothes, bag or shoes for that subtle splash of colour.
It seems red is our colour! And this week, it should be yours too.

Why not make a trip to a vintage shop like Lucy’s Lounge and take a gander to find a match for your Póg (a modernised Claddagh ring will help your vintage look pop!).
Pink is said to be the most relaxing colour, with a shade named “drunk tank pink” scientifically proven to relax those looking at it. Double the comforting effect by pairing it with a soothing spinning ring for those days you really need to relax.
Once you’re all dolled up, treat yourself to some strawberry ice-cream or pop into a pink themed restaurant for the finest pink cuisine.

There’s no such thing as “ice-cream weather” when it comes to Ireland. Any day is a good day for a 99 with a big dollop of sauce and sprinkles. Don’t forget the flake!
When on an island, it’s a crime not to explore the beach. It may not have golden sands and surf worthy waves, but they glisten in their own charming, blue way. Roll up your jeans and take a leap of faith into the Irish sea.
